Country music legend Reba McEntire’s divorce is final

On Behalf of | Dec 22, 2015 | High Asset Divorce

After 26 years as husband and wife, country music star Reb McEntire and Narvel Blackstock have finalized their divorce. The announcement was made on Reba’s Facebook account.

The now-former couple has a son together. Blackstock also has three other children from a previous marriage. One of those sons, Brandon, is married to singer Kelly Clarkson.

The two have worked together for 35 years. He was her manager for almost 10 years prior to their marriage. Blackstock continues to hold that role after the divorce. Reba posted on Facebook, “Thanks for all of those sweet messages. Narvel and I are friends. We have always been.”

Reba, 60, became a country music legend after releasing such hits as “Somebody Should Leave,” “Can’t Even Get the Blues” and “Walk On.” She’s also starred in a sitcom, “Reba.” In addition, she designs home goods and clothing.

Divorce is never easy, but it can be easier when the couple decides to be civil about the separation. In many high asset divorces, there are prenuptial agreements, which can limit the number of decisions that must be made when divorce occurs.

While you may not have the assets of a county music star, what you do have is yours. This includes what you came into the marriage with. In order to get through divorce issues such as child custody, child support, alimony and property division, you need an experienced divorce attorney on your side. He or she can provide a great deal of guidance on how to proceed with your divorce so that you get what you and the children — if any — deserve.
